OCEANSIDE – Two men were arrested Monday in connection with a bagel shop robbery last week, according to police.
Oceanside police robbery detectives served search warrants at two homes following the robbery at Bruegger's Bagels on Oceanside Boulevard near College Boulevard.
According to police, a 21-year-old and a 19-year-old entered the bagel shop through a locked back door about 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The robbers, who were armed with a rifle, ordered one employee to lie face down on the floor while the other was told to open the safe, according to police.
The robbers took about $1,000 and ran out the back door.
Detectives said they later identified the suspected robbers and searched their homes. During the searches, detectives found weapons, disguises and narcotics.
Both men were booked into the Vista jail on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy, with the 19-year-old also facing a narcotics charge, according to police.
