Firefighters work to gain access to the Kragen Auto Parts building.
Firefighters have classified the blaze as “unintentional,” the dispatcher said, but the exact cause has not been determined.

The fire was reported about 10:30 p.m. on Broadway near E Street. It was mostly extinguished by 11 p.m. Dispatchers at the time said mattresses and rubbish that were piled up against the building also burned.

San Diego fire also handles emergency calls for Chula Vista.
